Travis was originally diagnosed right after he turned 30. Our sweet Adyson was just 1 at the time. He was very tired, lost a lot of weight, had night sweats and just didn't feel well. After a trip to the Doctor and an ultrasound checking for ulcers they found a very large mass in his right kidney.

The kidney was removed within 2 weeks and the margins looked clear, but barely. The report showed the mas was 2mm's away from being outside of the kidney-and having the cancer spread.

For 2 years we had scans every few months without any signs of cancer. During that time we felt very blessed to welcome Sienna to our family and lived a very happy cancer free life!

Then in December 2007 Trav went in for a usual scan and the results were devastating.

The cancer was back.

METS to his lungs, a spot on his rib, a lesion in his liver, and tumors in his only remaining kidney.

Metastatic RCC is incurable. It's a mean and ugly disease. And we really hate it. And plan on defying the odds.

From 2007-2012 Travis was getting weekly doses of an immunotherepy drug called Torisel. This drug was a wonderful drug for him because it worked in maintaining his cancer with very minimal growth for 4 years. He was able to work full time, and although he often felt exhausted, weak and sore, our lives continued on as normal.

Early in 2012 the drug began to fail and we are now embarking on a new drug and a new way of life.

High Dose Interluekin 2.
